A friendly, engaging and comfortable home
Springfield is a family run concern. We have a very experienced and caring General Manager, Gill, who oversees the day to day running of the homes. Our whole ethos is built around the comfort and happiness of each individual. As well as our qualified nursing team, we also have a team of staff called ‘The Canaries’, who are solely dedicated to making every day rewarding and enjoyable one.
Activities
We have a lot of activities going on for those who want to participate but we also protect the peace and quiet of those who do not. Newspapers are delivered every morning. We interact with local groups, encourage visits from schools and community groups and maintain a healthy social and entertainments calendar for those who seek it.
Food
All the food at both our Prinsted and Emsworth care homes is cooked on site using fresh, often local, produce. Food is a very important part of day to day life and we take great pleasure in providing a wide variety of home cooked meals. We find meal times are very popular occasions!
Facilities
Springfield has excellent facilities both for the personal benefit of residents and also the smooth operation of the homes. Facilities include wifi, TV and telephone points in every room, specialist lifting and bathing equipment and the provision of regular physiotherapy and chiropody sessions as part of the fees.

Springfield has been owned and run by the Bennett family for over 30 years. Two generations of the family help to run the homes. Springfield enjoys an excellent reputation for providing really good quality care, support, facilities and accommodation. At both of our residential nursing homes, in Emsworth and Prinsted near Southbourne, we have created an environment that is warm, welcoming, pleasant to live in and open at all times to friends and family.
Our mission is to make every one of our residents as comfortable and happy as possible, whilst respecting their own privacy and individual lifestyle needs.
At Springfield Nursing Homes we provide supported living, long-term care, respite care, convalescence or post-operative care and dementia care, we balance the needs of individuals very comfortably.
We encourage people to come and stay with us for an initial period of time before making decisions about longer stays. This works very well for all those involved and gives peace of mind at what can be a difficult time.
All our residents’ rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, mostly with en-suite facilities. Naturally, residents are very welcome to bring their own furniture and possessions should they so wish. There is a television and telephone point in each room. Assisted bathing facilities are available.
We have a small store in-house selling basic provisions and essential treats! In-house laundry facilities are also provided.
We hold and encourage regular resident and relative meetings with staff to review resident care.
Residents can maintain their own GP’s provided their surgery is within five miles of Springfield. Domiciliary visits by dentists and opticians can be arranged.
