We encourage a full and active lifestyle for all of our residents…

We plan a varied and interesting activity programme 7 days a week for those who wish to participate, but we also protect the peace and quiet of those who do not.

A full and active lifestyle is encouraged with freedom for you to decide upon your own daily routine wherever possible. You are encouraged to continue your own hobbies and pastimes and to participate in our wide and varied programme of activities. We have a dedicated team of experienced Social Care Co-ordinators, who are affectionately known within the home as ‘Canaries’ because of their bright yellow uniforms.

We also plan regular outings to local beauty spots and country pubs, and we participate wherever possible in local community events.

You will see details of previous events we have held together with information of upcoming events below:

  • Guest entertainers and speakers
  • Exercise groups
  • Film shows
  • Music and movement afternoons
  • Arts and crafts sessions
  • Residents’ parties
  • Regular excursions

“We are a team of social care assistants, the Canaries. We provide a wide range of activities such as scrap-booking, quizzes and arts & crafts to interest our residents and to maintain pre-existing hobbies and interests.

Our activities stimulate the physical and mental well-being of our residents and at the same time we deliver person-centred social needs for each  individual. We understand the importance of promoting privacy, dignity and independence which is what our activities involve.”
