Understanding Care options at Springfield Care Homes

Springfield Health Services Limited actually encompasses two different homes, Springfield Care Home and Prinsted Care Home and both offer different types of care.

Prinsted offers assisted living, respite care, residential care and nursing care. Meanwhile at Springfield, respite care and residential care are available.

We ensure every resident receives the attention and support they deserve and our staff are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all our residents.

Prior to any new admission to one of our homes, we will conduct a full assessment of the potential resident to make sure we can meet their needs.

So, join us as we explore what makes each option unique and how we tailor our services to meet individual needs and preferences.

Assisted living

Assisted living lodges allow residents the chance to maintain their independence, while help is near at hand if needed

This is the perfect option for your loved ones who do not require 24-hour residential care, but want the security and reassurance of knowing that someone can be on hand quickly if needed.

These assisted living lodges were designed to be homely, comfortable spaces that offer all the required facilities, while allowing residents the opportunity to maintain their independence.

As for what you’ll find in an assisted living lodge, they have a large open plan living and dining area, a kitchen, a large bedroom, a spacious bathroom and even a dishwasher.

Assisted living residents have the opportunity to join our residents for meals anytime they please, as well as being able to join in with any of the activities in the main home.

You can also expect to enjoy daily housekeeping, a daily laundry service, WIFI and a call bell system linked to the main home.

Respite care

At Springfield Care Home, we keep two rooms available for respite care year-round and it acts as a support system for both residents and caregivers. We are able to offer respite at Prinsted Care Home only if we have a room available at the time.

Our respite care services are used under a number of different circumstances, varying from people who are recovering from surgery or illness to people whose caregivers need a short break or they might be going on holiday.

As with any other resident, for those coming in for respite care, all the usual services are available.

We tailor a care plan as we would do for a long-term resident for our respite care residents, making sure all their needs are identified and met.

We will do all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, maintenance and there are staff on hand 24 hours a day to help with any aspect of daily living.

We also have a physiotherapist who comes in once a week to work with those residents who may need help building back up their strength.

Respite care is the perfect option to provide residents with attentive short-term care, while giving caregivers the peace of mind they need to enjoy a well-deserved break.

Residential care

Residents have a variety of social activities to enjoy every day of the week

Both of our homes offer comprehensive residential care designed to provide a balance of independence and support.

Residents can choose from ensuite single rooms or double rooms for couples, ensuring privacy and comfort. The facilities include large modern lounges, dining areas with views of beautifully landscaped gardens, and accessible patios for relaxation.

Health and wellness are prioritised with services like physiotherapy, chiropody, and regular visits from hairdressers and exercise specialists.

Daily life is enriched with a variety of social activities available seven days a week, from puzzles and hobbies in quiet activity areas to engaging programs that include visiting entertainers and faith leaders.

Our 24/7 support ensures all medical and personal needs are met promptly. Additionally, the provision of home-cooked food and the availability of Wi-Fi allow for a home-like environment.

Nursing care

This is for residents who require a higher level of care that is planned and delivered by a nurse, all of whom are registered general nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

This might involve daily dressings, it might be complex medications, it might be mechanical feedings or specialist bathing and lifting equipment to assist residents as needed.

For the most part, for those in nursing care, the level of care they require will increase over time, so we make sure to assess them regularly.
