Housekeeper

Job Purpose:
The Housekeeper ensures a high standard of cleanliness and order throughout the facility, covering both communal areas and residents’ private rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & Maintenance:
  • Follow the cleaning schedule to maintain cleanliness in all communal and resident areas.
  • Carry out regular cleaning checks on all communal and private areas to ensure high standards of hygiene. Report any concerns to the Senior Housekeeper or Shift Leader.
  • Perform regular fabric and general audits, notifying the Senior Housekeeper as necessary.
  • Assist with laundry, changing bed linens, and other ad hoc domestic tasks as required by the Home Manager, Business Manager, or Shift Leader.
  • Equipment & Supplies:
  • Maintain schedules for equipment servicing and repairs.
  • Support with regular stock checks to ensure supplies are ordered on time and within budget constraints.
  • Report any low stock levels, damaged equipment, or any additional cleaning requirements to the Senior Housekeeper or Shift Leader.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, including COSHH records and risk assessments.
  • Report any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or accidents promptly, following the facility’s incident reporting protocol.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Communicate any issues regarding incidents, equipment, or potential hazards to the Senior Housekeeper or Shift Leader.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all staff members to ensure effective coordination of tasks and address any concerns.

Personal Requirements:

  • Confidentiality:

Maintain confidentiality regarding company matters, residents’ treatment, and their conditions.

  • Professional Conduct:
  • Show respect and maintain proper etiquette towards residents, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Ensure uniform is worn, clean, and tidy at all times.
  • Adhere to workplace rules, including no jewellery and no use of mobile phones while on duty.
  • Respect residents’ privacy at all times when cleaning their rooms or handling personal items.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Be aware of the fire drill and participate in regular fire training.
  • Report accidents, complaints, and health-related concerns to the Manager or Shift Leader.
  • Attend regular health & safety, fire, and risk assessment training sessions as directed by management.
  • Teamwork & Development:
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Actively participate in performance reviews and provide feedback to continuously improve the quality of service provided.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines at all times.

Social Care – Activities Assistant

Do you want to make a difference to someone’s life and feel a sense of purpose in an extremely rewarding role? We are seeking an Activity Assistant to join our caring team at Springfield Care Homes. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organising engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being.

If your answer is yes to all these questions, this role might just be perfect for you!

Your daily routine will include organising and delivering activities to our residents, assist with planning and running events. You will spend time engaging with residents and checking in on those who prefer to stay in their rooms. Activity Assistants may also be required to assist Care Assistants as needed.

We are offering a permanent contract for 12hrs or Maternity Cover for 36hrs per week.

The contract for 12 hours per week will be Week 1: Monday & Wednesday and Week 2: Friday 8-4pm. For Maternity Cover, Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and Week 2: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All shifts will be 8-4pm.

Previous experience in care or activity coordination is beneficial but not essential, as we are happy to provide full training for the right person with a passion for improving the lives of others

Pay rate £12.41 per hour.
