Maintenance Person

Maintenance Person – Care Home
We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Maintenance Person to join our team. You will play a key role in ensuring that the care home remains a safe, well-maintained environment for both residents and staff, in line with all relevant health and safety legislation and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the property remains in a safe and functional condition, with all utilities fully operational.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and repairs, including painting, decorating, and general upkeep as required or identified in the maintenance log.
- Undertake plumbing, electrical (including Portable Appliance Testing – PAT), and carpentry tasks within your skill set.
- Adhere to all aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act, including COSHH regulations. Ensure a safe working environment through regular fire, safety and equipment audits as directed.
- To assist with inspections from Fire Officers and Environmental Health.
Requirements:
- Broad knowledge of building trades and maintenance practices.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage and complete a variety of maintenance tasks independently.
- Comfortable working within a care home setting, with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with both residents and staff.
- A clean driving licence is essential.
Rate of Pay £17.00
Start Date: Required as soon as possible
Full time Monday- Friday day shift, Weekend Availability
