Embracing Community at Springfield Health Services

At our care homes, our engagement with the community brings warmth, joy, and a sense of togetherness that enriches the lives of our residents and staff alike.

Springfield and Prinsted Care Homes are proud to be integral parts of the local community. Unlike the impersonal nature of some modern facilities, our homes strive to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where community interaction is a cornerstone of daily life.

We regularly invite the local community to join us for weekly coffee mornings and special events like summer and Christmas fairs, which are highlights of our community calendar.

Active Participation in Local Events

Our engagement extends beyond our doors. Residents and staff participate in local church events, visit community groups, and enjoy outings to local cafes and other attractions, which all act as a great way for keeping our residents connected to the world outside our homes.

Supporting Local Causes

Springfield supports local charities and initiatives, such as hospices, by participating in their events and promoting their causes.

We also share valuable resources like information from the local dementia hub, making these available not just to our residents and their families but to the entire community.

Volunteering and Contributions

While Springfield currently has a few active volunteers, our doors are always open to those in the community who wish to contribute their time and energy.

Past volunteers, including those fulfilling personal goals or seeking companionship, have found volunteering with us to be a fulfilling experience.

Every Wednesday, community members are welcome to pop in between 11am and 12pm at both homes to join us for a cup of coffee and lively conversation.

Fostering Generational Connections

One of the most beautiful aspects of our community involvement is the interaction between different generations.

Schoolchildren often visit, engaging with our residents in activities that bridge the age gap. Whether it’s through singing carols or making Christmas cards, these interactions create great memories for the residents and the children.

The Impact of Community on Our Residents

Care Home Hampshire

Taking a vibrant community-oriented approach is really important to us at Springfield Health Services. Residents enjoy a varied and enriching social life that significantly enhances their quality of life.

They relish the opportunity to meet new people and take part in in new experiences and the subsequent benefits for their emotional and psychological well-being cannot be underestimated.

Looking Forward

Springfield Care Homes is committed to continuing and expanding our community activities. We have a line-up of events such as the Macmillan coffee morning and ‘wear pink for breast cancer’ day, among others.

These events are not only fun; they’re also integral to our mission of providing a caring, inclusive, and engaging environment for our residents.

At Springfield Health Services, our deep integration with the local community is essential to our identity. It strengthens our commitment to providing a life-enhancing environment where residents can feel genuinely at home. We invite you to join us in creating cherished memories and making every moment count for our residents and their families.
